Scholarship Application Tips

Here are some Scholarship Application Tips!

Follow Directions!

Pay attention to the "Application Instructions" page. Submit everything needed in the order that is listed. Don't staple anything! Use paperclips instead.

Answer every question!

Never leave a question blank! Even if your answer is just briefly explain why you aren't answering.

Create quality documents!

Type all your forms unless otherwise specified. Don't use stained or crumpled paper.

But don't get too fancy!

When submitting your appliocation, it is unnecessary to use really thick fancy paper. We often must scan the packets and thick paper can get destroyed in the feeder.

Sign on the line!

Make sure you and your parent or gurdian sign the Signature Page.

Watch your deadlines!

Mail your application BEFORE the due date! Applications must be recieved or at least post-marked before the due date.

Ask for help early!

Scholarship applications are generally available at least a month before the due date. If you need to ask questions or request help in some way, you are far more likely to get help when the due date is 2 weeks from now, instead of 6 hours from now.

Find a proof-reader!

Don't let little mistakes ruin your submission. Find a friend or teacher to read your application and have them look for any typos, missed words, or missing documents.

Read all about it!

If you are unsure of something, it is ok to call or email the Foundation to ask. But remeber to read through the whole application first!
