The Heart of Cook Foundation Fund

“The Heart of Cook” is a grant program administered by the Berrien Community Foundation targeted to assist educational, human services, and environmental nonprofit projects in Southwest Michigan and Northwest Indiana (La Porte, St. Joseph, and Elkhart Counties).

The Berrien Community Foundation is accepting applications on behalf of

I & M's Heart of Cook Foundation Fund, a corporate advised fund held by BCF, from January 9-February 8, 2012.

Applications and the guidelines are available on this page for downloading (see below)

Completed applications are to be delivered to the Berrien Community Foundation by 5 p.m. on February 8, 2012,

OR if mailed, postmarked by a post office with a date no later than February 8, 2012, no exceptions.

We strongly encourage potential applicants to read the Guidelines first before proceeding to the application completion step.

An organization (501(c)(3) or equivalent [units of government (e.g., county, city, township), religious organizations (e.g., church, synagogue), schools (e.g., high school, elementary]) may submit only one application during this cycle

(i.e., one for either the long form or the mini grant form).

Note: If the organization is not one of these four types, we cannot accept a grant application from that organization

due to IRS regulations for corporate advised funds.
