The William J. Deputy Fund was created in 2008 to support projects that strengthen communities in Harbor Country. Bill Deputy — an active member of the New Buffalo Yacht Club and New Buffalo Harbor Commission — was a quiet, generous community supporter. He cared deeply about the waterfront areas and the people who call Harbor Country home. His legacy now helps fund projects that benefit the area.
What’s available:
Municipalities in Harbor Country may apply for grants of up to $10,000.
Municipalities are encouraged (but not required) to partner with other agencies or nonprofits to complete projects. Only municipalities may submit grant applications.
Who can apply:
Only the municipalities of Grand Beach, Harbert, Lakeside, Michiana, New Buffalo, New Troy, Sawyer, Three Oaks and Union Pier are eligible.
How to apply:
- Click “Access the Application” to create or log into your account. New users must register their organization and verify their email (check spam folders for a verification link). BCF must approve the organization account before you can access the application.
- Once logged in, go to "Opportunities" to start an application or "Submissions" then "In Progress" to return to a draft.
- Be sure to complete the BCF budget worksheet and upload it at the end of the form.
