The Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library is a library located in downtown St. Joseph. The library provides services for about 18,000 people, with reciprocal borrowing agreements with most Berrien County libraries. The library houses approximately 100,000 items including fiction, non-fiction, audio-visual materials, periodicals and children's materials while also maintaining a local history room, computer labs, free educational programming and meeting room space to the community.
The library has also implemented Hygiene Lockers in both its upstairs bathrooms, which anyone can access regardless of where they live or if they hold a library card.

Monday-Thursday : 10am - 8pm
Friday: 10am - 6pm
Saturday: 10am - 5pm
Sunday: Closed
