Assisting youth experiencing homelessness and other temporary housing situations succeed in school.
The McKinney-Vento Project is federal legislation dealing with the education of children and youth experiencing homelessness in U.S. public schools.
As the intermediate school district for schools in Berrien County, Berrien RESA manages the McKinney-Vento Project locally. They work to ensure students experiencing homelessness and temporary living situations enroll, regularly attend and succeed in school by providing advocacy, transportation, school supplies, clothing, lunches, education-related expenses, housing and more.
Each school has a program liaison that can help students access McKinney-Vento services. Click here to find your school district and the McKinney-Vento liaison listed.
