Emergency Response

BCF Emergency Responses

During this time of uncertainty and social isolation, we are focusing on taking care of our community. The Berrien Community Foundation is joining with United Way of Southwest Michigan and other local funders to ensure we are responding to the needs of our community. The website for the Southwest Michigan Cares collaborative is southwestmichigancares.org

Here are important messages for individuals and organizations.

At this time, the processing for our most recent For Good grant applications is delayed. You will receive additional information soon. If you have changes in the services you are offering, please contact Susan Matheny by clicking here.

How You Can Help:

If you want to make a gift, we suggest you give to the Southwest Michigan Cares Fund. 100% of all donations will be redistributed to local charities to address needs stemming from the COVID-19 response efforts.

For BCF donor-advised fundholders:

You will receive a separate communication soon with opportunities to co-invest with us locally to maximize impact. Given the need for urgent responsiveness, we will prioritize processing grants for nonprofits responding to the crisis. Thank you for understanding that non-COVID-19 response-related grants may not be processed in our standard two-week time frame.

For Our Community - How BCF is Operating:

The BCF office is closed to the public but we will continue to provide services and work to connect community needs with resources. BCF staff is using technology to work remotely during this time. You can contact us by phone: 269-983-3304 or email at bcf@berriencommunity.org
