Tim King Scholarship Fund

Portrait of Tim King looking at the camera.

A man of many talents, Tim King shared his musical passion. He was dedicated and skilled, playing soprano and tenor saxes, and stand-up bass with multiple area bands. Tim taught sax and clarinet to kids at the Citadel in Benton Harbor. He had great love for his students, band mates, his teachers and mentors, and volunteered much time and ingenuity back into the local music community that nurtured him.

Tim would like to be remembered as a good person who didn’t cause a fuss. His family, who adored him, would like him to be remembered as an ethical, one-of-a-kind man of many skills and humility, and one of the most generous citizens of his generation. His legacy is not measured in his many accomplishments, but in the lives he touched and the respect he inspired. The music he played continues to echo, never-ending.

The family has chosen to honor Tim by starting a scholarship in his name. Dollars collected through this page will support this scholarship.
